Yahoo Lifestyle Joseph Gordon-Levitt Is Going To Play Edward Snowden

The rumours are true. An Edward Snowden movie is coming next year, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt will star. The news was confirmed by the film’s producer who has also revealed that Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone will helm the feature, which will start production in Munich in January.
There are few details on the plot at this stage, although we do know that the film is going to be based on two books (The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man by Luke Harding and Time of the Octopus by Anatoly Kucherena). Exactly what time period the film will cover – from Snowden’s leaking of confidential National Security Agency documents in June 2013, his subsequent weeks on the run around the world and then finally when he sought refuge in Russia in August – is unclear.
One thing we do know? This has “Oscar-winner” written all over it.
