Created by designer Luella Bartley, the label debuted in 2000 and most recently presented a celebrated collection at London Spring/Summer Fashion Week 2010.
Celebrity fans of the label include Kate Moss, Lily Allen and Alexa Chung.
"This is a very disappointing situation for everyone involved with the brand," Bartley said in a statement. "It is upsetting not to be able to protect jobs in this difficult economic climate."
The former British Designer of the Year explained she would be considering a number of different options over the coming months.
Fans of the label have taken to Twitter, using the #saveLuella tag to voice their support. Blogger Kristabel P. even created a badge for other bloggers to display on their sites.
"I love Luella," she tells marie claire. "The clothes sum up British eccentricity with a twist so well, and they’re accessible as well. I am deeply saddened by this news."

I'm devastated by the news; Luella's my favourite designer. Everyone who doesn't want this to be the end of the fabulous label can do their bit by tweeting for the cause and adding the badge to their blog. :) Florrie xx http://intrinsicallyflorrie.blogspot.com/
