What can we expect from your NYFW show?
I wanted to design a Fall collection that felt uplifting and optimistic. There's is an abundance of print, reflective surfaces and fabrications that shine. We have tried to play with light elements and create a lot of movement in the pieces. I am really excited for show day.

Who have you been most excited to see wearing your label?
I always get a kick out of seeing anyone wearing Zimmermann - a cool girl on the street or out and about. That doesn't wear off. And it was fun seeing Beyoncé this week in our dress in her new clip for Formation. The clip is so great.

What's your style motto?
I'm not really a style motto type - but I think fashion should be enjoyed and so I guess it's always important to me to keep that sense of fun.

How much does social media feedback factor into your designs?
I wouldn't say it impacts what we create but if definitely helps to get a sense of how people are wearing our collections and how they style different pieces.

What's the best piece of life advice you've ever been given?
I get asked this sometimes and I don't ever have a good answer. But I do remember being told not to go into fashion and don't work with family. I ignored both, which has worked out ok.

What is your favourite shopping spot in NYC?
It's not a secret but I love Maria Tash in Soho and Catbird in Williamsburg. Both are jewellery stores that sell fine, delicate jewellery with an edge.

Zimmermann’s Fall 2016 show will take place at 12pm, Friday 12th February at Artbeam Studio, Chelsea, New York.
