John Galliano has lost his case for unfair dismissal, say his lawyers.

The British designer was famously fired from both Christian Dior and the house of John Galliano after making anti-Semitic remarks in a Parisian cafe.

In his defense, Galliano claimed he was addicted to both drugs and alcohol at the time, which he says his then employers were aware of.

"The two companies were fully aware of my state," Galliano said. "I took Valium so I could get through fittings."

A Paris labour court rejected the claims however, instead ordering him to pay a symbolic 1 Euro each to Dior and the John Galliano label.

The case ends a three-year long battle for Galliano, who was only recently employed again following the incident. The designer's new boss at Maison Martin Margiela is now urging the public to focus on Galliano's future.

"Honestly, I believe John Galliano is a talent," OTB CEO Stefano Rosso said. "That is the only thing that we see into him. I understand his past is his past and we as Group don't comment on the past. What we do really like to comment is on the future of John Galliano, and we believe the best and only way to do so is to see his next collection."

Rosso urged consumers to look beyond Galliano's past and focus on what he could deliver in the future.

"My advice is to see what he is going to deliver, and I would like you to judge us for his collection, his couture collection in Paris," stated Rosso. "That is the only thing we feel is the right thing to say right now."
