Designer File: Emilia Wickstead

Emilia Wickstead is part of a rare breed: a young, stylish woman who dresses young, stylish women in shapes their grandmothers would have aspired to. It helps that right now in London - where the designer lives - there's a band of girls who love glamour as much as they do Glastonbury. Poppy Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse are just some of these girls - and it's Wickstead they turn to.

"I look to old world couture and imagine lifestyles and characters," says the designer of her influences. Born in Auckland, Wickstead, now 30, moved to Milan at 14, before settling in London. "My collections are influenced by each culture's experience in my life."

This month, she'll show for the seventh time at London Fashion Week. Her current collection - with its python-print organza - is something of a departure for a designer known for chalky pastels. Whatever she comes up with this season, you can be sure Suki and co will be watching closely.
