Where there’s fashion, there’s FEMEN: one of Europe’s most prominent women’s rights groups took to the runway at Paris Fashion Week overnight, crashing the otherwise dignified Nina Ricci show.

Two topless protestors stormed the runway, one with “Fashion fascism” scrawled across her chest and the other with "model don't go to brothel" - reportedly written to bring awareness to Ukrainian women being used as sex slaves or prostitutes.

The show was in full swing when the girls launched their protest, challenging the models for space on the runway. Luckily, no-one was hurt and the show went on after the protesters were forcibly removed by security.

Self described as "the new Amazons," FEMEN say they are "capable to undermine the foundations of the patriarchal world by their intellect, sex, agility, make disorder, bring neurosis and panic to the men's world. FEMEN – is the ability to feel the problems of the world, beat it with the naked truth and bare nerve. FEMEN – is a hot boobs, a cool head and clean hands."

It’s not the first time FEMEN have tried a stunt at Fashion Week - in 2012, the group protested at Versace's Fall 2013 runway show in Milan, holding signs that read "fashion = fascism."

More recently, two members of the group managed to crash the live finale of Germany’s Next Top Model, brandishing the slogan, "Heidi's Horror Picture Show," across their naked chests in an appeal to host Heidi Klum.

"I have just been seeing boobies in front of me,” Klum blurted out at the time. “Too bad it happened at this special moment!"
