Miranda Kerr Steps Down As David Jones Ambassador

Supermodel and Victoria's Secret Angel Miranda Kerr has reportedly left her role as the ambassador of David Jones, with Jessica Gomes stepping up to take her place.

The surprising news broke this morning, with David Jones set to make an official announcement sometime in the next few hours.

Although the reason behind the decision has not yet been made clear, Business Spectator said a few days ago that negotiations between the model and the department store were ongoing.
,
“We’re negotiating,” said David Jones CEO, Paul Zahra, at the time. “Those negotiations are confidential and I think once we reach an arrangement we will announce it."
It seems negotiations came to a head this morning, with Zahra stating, “We will forever consider Miranda part of the David Jones family. We have loved being on this journey with Miranda and feel privileged to not only have been a part of it but to watch Miranda's remarkable success and growth.

"We wish Miranda every success for what will undoubtedly be a very successful future and would like to thank her wholeheartedly for her wonderful contribution to our brand.”

In a telling interview with marie claire last month, Kerr said she believes women are “too tough” on themselves when it comes to trying to have it all.

“I really feel that if you do the best you can everyday, then that’s all you can do,” said Kerr. “There are decisions that you make for yourself and for your family that no-one else should have a say in. I feel like as women we put too much pressure on ourselves to try and be everything to everyone.”

Although there has been no word yet from Kerr’s camp, the supermodel is expected to return to Sydney next month to officially launch the new Qantas uniforms. She made headlines just last week when she was involved in a car crash in Los Angeles.
