Jennifer Lawrence The New Face Of Miss Dior Handbags

America’s newest sweetheart is putting down her cross-bow and picking up a handbag.

Jennifer Lawrence (aka Katniss Everdeen) has been named the new face of Miss Dior Handbags, a role that Lawrence, 22, describes as “a dream”.

The luxury brand appointed the The Hunger Games star as the ambassador to fill the shoes of other Hollywood beauties before her, including Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard.

The Oscar-nominated actress’ campaign will splash across our glossies in March next year.

Lawrence is the first celebrity face to be linked to the French Fashion House since Raf Simons replaced John Galliano as Artistic Director in April, and is no stranger to his designs. She turned heads in the much-talked-about goth-glam dress by Simons at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

For Simons, choosing the woman for the coveted role was an easy one.

“Like the whole world I first discovered Jennifer Lawrence as a young action hero,” Simons said in a statement.

“Her youth and classic beauty, but also the feminine strength and complexity that she can portray at such a young age are, for me, very unique and very appealing.”

Lawrence gushed in return, “I’m so excited to be working with the fashion house and with the new creations by Raf Simons.”

We will have to wait with baited breath however, to catch a glimpse of Ms Lawrence donning haute couture and Miss Dior handbags. She’s currently filming Catching Fire, the highly anticipated sequel to the movie that catapulted her to fame, The Hunger Games, which is set for release in November 2013.
