What’s the inspiration behind your spring/summer collection?

My S/S12-13 collection is titled ‘Visions of Symmetry’ and was inspired by Art Deco buildings, specifically the work of M.C Escher. I have always been drawn to the symmetrical harmony of this style of architecture’s balance between colour and detail.

What sort of prints and textures are featured in your upcoming range?

For the past 6 months, I’ve been developing 7 original digital prints in conjunction with Helm, a new graphic design agency. These were created from a series of photographic images, and the printed pieces will be worked back with the silk and wool fabrications that round out the collection.

In your opinion, what are some of the big trends we can expect to see on the catwalk at MBFW?

There’s no doubt print will be a strong feature throughout Fashion Week, but I also predict simple, classic silhouettes will be a highlight.

What’s your favourite fashion week memory?

This will be our first involvement in fashion week, so as yet I don’t have any. We have managed to build a real ‘A team’ and we are very excited for the experience.

What are you most looking forward to at fashion week this year?

We are looking forward to a positive response from stockists nationally and internationally, as well as the media, I hope.

What will you be doing after fashion week wraps?

First and foremost, sleep! Then it’s straight onto working on new ideas for the An Ode to No One Winter 2012 collection.
