A treasure trove of Hollywood’s most iconic costumes, props, photographs and accessories are set to go on show at the Museum of Brisbane this month.
Three years in the pipeline, Costumes from the Golden Age of Hollywood will showcase outfits worn by the likes of Judy Garland, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Barbra Streisand and Bette Davis.

Most of the pieces are drawn from the trove of avid Brisbane collector Nicholas Inglis. Inglis, a lawyer by day and Hollywood aficionado by night, has spent the past twenty years nurturing his love for the silver screen and amassing hundreds of original screen-worn costumes and pieces of big-screen memorabilia.

Museum of Brisbane Deputy Director Christopher Salter said that the allure of the Golden Age remains stronger than ever. “There is still so much nostalgia for this period of films, and the costumes and props are a very real but magical link to some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.
The exhibition is free to the public and opens 22 November at the Museum of Brisbane.
