Pop singer Lily Allen has come forward saying the secret behind Hollywood's

size zero standard is "not eating".

The just-married star expressed her concern over the unobtainable figures of most Hollywood stars, hinting that drugs play a large part and that "people in America aren't normal".

"(People) are taking speed not to eat. In America everyone abuses that Adderall stuff," she told ELLE magazine.

While Allen says she is happy with her body at the moment, she admits it wasn't always the case.

"(I went through a stage) where I wasn't eating. [I was] going out at night. I guess when you’re not eating you have to distract yourself with other things.

"Come three o'clock it was like, 'Oh I suppose it's acceptable to have a glass of wine.' And then by four o'clock I would have had four glasses. It's not the way to be."

Allen adds that up until 2007, she prided herself on healthy body image, but eventually Hollywood took over and she became "victim to the evil machine".

Allen's husband, Sam Cooper, is credited with turning Allen's lifestyle around.

"Sam is really down to earth," a source told The Sun UK. "He grafts hard for a living as a painter and decorator and leads a totally normal life. Lily is completely smitten with him."

She's a singer, not a model, so as long as she's making good music, her weight shouldn't be an issue. It's awful having to starve yourself to be thin, and a lot of women lie about their bodies to gain envy of other women. I'm not talking about people who are naturally thin - naturally thin people, even if they're skinny, still look healthy, provided they're eating well and are active. I'm talking about people (mainly women) who starve themselves and spend hours exercising, telling people that they eat nothing but junk food and never exercise.

Lily, good on you for saying what you have! Young people need to hear more of these sorts of comments because the glitzy world of celebrities is not what it seems. Your kind of role-modelling is refreshing, and poles apart from the tacky, self-absorbed world of Hollywood.
