Behind Our Jennifer Hawkins Cover

As you can imagine, finding the right person wasn't an easy task; they needed to be able to pull it off with confidence and style, and really resonate with Australian women.

After plenty of thought, we decided to approach one of our favourite local stars, Jennifer Hawkins. Straight away, she was keen - as Jen says, she's all about collecting new experiences, but we also had a long discussion about what we wanted to achieve with the cover, and the positive messages the image should send to young women. Now, I'm sure some of you are thinking that if you looked like Jen, with her girl-next-door looks and endless legs, you'd be happy to pose naked on a cover, too. But it's not that simple. At the shoot, Jen confided to me - and later repeated in our interview - that there's no way she could have stripped off like this a couple of years ago, and it's only recently that she has felt truly comfortable in the industry and in her own skin. And while she's naturally stunning, you might also be surprised to know that Jen has her share of body hang-ups, and works hard to maintain her figure and glowing skin by following a healthy diet and exercising regularly. "I'm no stick figure!" she laughs. In our story, she explains how she wants women to love their bodies, every curve and dimple of them.

As part of her - and our - commitment to positive body image, we're auctioning off our cover shot to raise funds for The Butterfly Foundation, which does amazing work helping people with eating disorders.
