I've jumped on a plane to New York and headed backstage at Fashion Week to bring you all the hottest, latest beauty looks for the upcoming season. The fashion is so fresh, we won't see it in Australia until Winter 2010 but the gorgeous hair and make-up looks are ripe for the picking right now. Enjoy!

The scene: On this freezing yet sunny weekend morning I jumped in a cab to the trendy Altman Building in Chelsea for the Preen show. In the front row, the look was Sunday-chic - think 'I'm not trying', glossy yet unkempt hair and fresh faces, with flashes of red lipstick to brighten up the chilly morning.

The looks: Models' hair was slicked into neat ponytails with a low side part, fringes swept alluringly across foreheads - the perfect 9-5 look. The gorgeous make-up featured hyper-glowing, polished skin and a glossy nude lip, but the focus was all about eyes. Smoky yet structured in a sultry shade of navy-grey, the look perfectly complemented the striking prints and sexy cutaway body-con dresses hitting the runway.

The gossip: Kanye West sat front row and attracted more flashbulbs than many of the garments before being hustled into a huge, black SUV parked curbside.

The scene: I gave my heels a workout striding down Lexington Avenue to the famous Bryant Park where I sneaked backstage with the crew from Maybelline New York to check out the make-up look for the Tracey Reese show. I bumped into Maybelline New York's new make-up director, Charlotte Willer, and asked her to give me the scoop.

The looks: Charlotte said the look was going to be all about fresh, luminous skin and her beautiful make-up certainly didn't disappoint. Velvety yet glowing complexions, rosy cheeks (thanks to Maybelline's fabulously flattering Mineral Power blush), groomed eyebrows and flesh-pink, full lips combined for a just-too-pretty result. It was a bit English rose meets New York fashionista and a completely wearable look I'm going to try out myself tomorrow morning. Her product of choice for backstage beautification? Maybelline New York Mineral Power Concealer - which just goes to show that sometimes models need a little help, too.

The gossip: In a tragic turn of events, the designer Tracey Reese lost her mother very recently and a huge crowd came out to show their support. Causing a stir front row were Paris and Nicky Hilton (Paris has lost her long hair extensions and is sporting a gorgeously of-the-moment blonde crop), actress Aisha Tyler, American Idol's Kellie Pickler and socialite Kim Kardashian (looking divinely Snow White-esque with glossy black locks, fluttering lashes and shiny red lips). Miss Jay from America's Next Top Model made sure the girls on the runway looked 'fierce'.
