Ready For Red

A dramatic, traffic-stopping pout can be either classic and polished or bold and matt - you decide.


Choose any shade for lips this season, as long as it's red. Pair a scarlet hue with flawless skin and groomed brows for a '50s-inspired take on the trend, or drench your mouth in a tomato- or orange-based option for a fresh, modern look. Make an impact with matt texture, or choose a sheer lipstick or gloss for a softer finish.

Going Up

From prim ponytails to gravity-defying quiffs and chic chignons, the up-do is most definitely back.


It's time to arm yourself with heavy-duty hair products, bobby pins and a teasing comb. Choose a ladylike look like the French rolls at Elie Saab, or a ballerina bun seen at Loewe. Use a volumising lotion to add bulk; then, either smooth your hair with serum, spray and a paddle brush, or add texture with mousse and moulding paste. Repair any residual damage with a once-weekly treatment.

Top tip: Up-dos are easier to create the day after you wash your hair. If you find that your strands are still too silky smooth, add texture by spraying through a dry shampoo.
