Set on a train, a young woman, lost in her thoughts, is lulled by the hypnotic rhythm of the train on the tracks. A young man passes her in the carriage, and he falls in love with her. They continue to run into each other on their journey and during the night, the trail of her Chanel No. 5 fragrance guides the man towards her cabin.
"They both think about each other, but continue on with their own lives, left with the regret that they didn't make contact with the other person. I love to play with destiny and coincidences," says Jeunet of the plot.
Coincidentally, Tautou's new biopic about the French fashion designer, Coco avant Chanel is released in French cinemas this week.
