Yves Saint Laurent Creates Eyeshadow Inspired By Facebook

YSL is set to pay tribute to its Facebook fans with an exclusive eyeshadow set.

Yves Saint Laurent is reportedly set to release a limited edition eye shadow set inspired by Facebook.

The four colour palette, which references Facebook’s statement blue colouring and is embossed with the words ‘Devoted to Fans’ will be available only to fans of YSL’s Facebook page.

"This is a fitting tribute to a vibrant and passionate demonstration that YSL’s Facebook page is a modern and dynamic brand with consumers knowing the heart of its marketing strategy," said Damien Vincent, commercial director of Facebook France.

It’s not the first time a beauty brand has used Facebook to launch a product – Oscar de la Renta famously debuted its first fragrance in 10 years via the social media site, while Burberry launched an exclusive sampling campaign to launch the Burberry Body fragrance.

Yves Saint Laurent Fragrances & Beauty boasts over 350,000 Facebook fans, so with only 1,650 of the iconic YSL Facebook palettes available, it seems it will be first in, best dressed. No word yet on whether the palette will be available in Australia.
