It was all about languid elegance and old-world charm at Leona Edmiston's spring/summer 2010/2011 fashion parade in Sydney today.
The key to getting this look right? Bright, bold red lips, says Nicole Thompson, senior make-up artist at M.A.C Cosmetics.

"We mixed two lipsticks - M.A.C Lady Danger (a matt coral red) and M.A.C Morange (a vivid creamy orange) to get this beautiful, strong orange-red," she explains. "It's a classic, womanly look that takes its cue from the high glamour of the '40s and '50s."
To complement the lips, skin was fresh and flawless, lashes dense and brows strong, but not severe.

To get the look at home, Thompson suggests concentrating on three areas:
1. Lips: Put a little concealer over the lips first to neutralise your natural lip colour and prepare for a precise edge, then apply the lipstick straight from the tube for maximum colour.
2. Brows: Use a small angle brush to apply a dark taupe eye shadow straight into your brows to define your natural shape. Extend them just a little bit further for a hint of old-world elegance.
3. Skin: Dab highlighter (Thompson used M.A.C Cream Colour Base in Pearl) on the top of the cheekbones, inner corner of the eyes and high points of the face to give skin a subtle radiance.

Interesting...usually with strong lip colour a lip liner is recommended, as reds and balcks can bleed or smudge. I have always been a big fan of Chanel, and they currently have a campaign advertising different shades of red, as do some of the other 'big' brands. It would have been nice to see a spectrum of other shades of red that a range of brands are currently offering.
Replynothing special or unique about this, and the colour is horrible, attempt to reinvent the wheel? boring
