# On towel dried hair, apply a volumizing mousse like L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art Full Volume Extra, $22.95, to your roots.
  1. To create the perfect side-part, use a tail comb for clean definition and always part your hair from the hairline and back towards the crown on a slight diagonal.
Blow-dry your hair smooth and flat to the scalp with a paddle brush, keeping the parting strong.
Pull your hair back into a low pony-tail. You may wish to create your bun/chignon off to one side - in this case you should set the pony tail on the opposite side of your parting.
Spray with L'Oréal Professionnel Elnett Satin Hairspray, $19.95, and tie the ponytail into a knot and pin with bobby pins so that it feels secure. If you wish to create a messy chignon, rub the pinned knot with your hand in a circular motion like you're cleaning the stove and spray generously with hairspray.
To keep hair sleek and smooth around the face, spray a comb with L'Oréal Professionnel Elnett Satin Hairspray, $19.95 and comb through to smooth down flyaways.
