The best-dressed at this year's Golden Globes let their dresses do the talking with a glamorous, pulled back hairstyle.

"With a style like this, you can let your dress, make-up and jewellery shine, whilst looking chic and sophisticated," commented hairstylist Andrew Collinge.

Re-create Kate Beckinsale's Golden Globe hairstyle:

1. Protect your hair by applying Andrew Collinge Heat Protect Spray to damp, freshly-washed hair.
2. Section hair, starting from the nape of the neck. Using a blow dryer with nozzle and big round brush, follow the hair down the brush, pulling and polishing the hair as you go. Work through all of the sections one by one. If your hair isn't poker straight, use a hair straightener to finish it off.
3. Create a strong part in the middle or to the side and fasten into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck, smoothing with Andrew Collinge Salon Serum.
4. Using another hair band, tuck the rest of the hair under to create a loop. Fan out the hair to hide the ends and pin in place. If your hair is not quite thick enough, use a 'hair doughnut' in the loop.
