Get The Look: Chanel Spring/Summer 2012

What was your inspiration for the make-up for this show?

"To meet the inspiration of this fantastic underwater fairytale feeling [and] a mood of lightness, Karl [Lagerfeld] wanted shine and pearl."

Can you describe the look?
"The focus was on luminosity, purity and a touch of humour. I did pale, glowing skin with a pink-coral blush and a wet, shiny eyelid finished with black eyeliner."

Can this look be worn in real life?
"This is a very accessible, wearable look. Easy to apply and flattering for most women. The balance between shine and matt, topped with a hint of colour, is a perfect way to float into [the new season]."

Is there a specific product that you developed exclusively for this show?
"I created a white, pearl nail polish exclusively for the show and for the more colourful passages [of the catwalk show], I used three nail polish shades called Le Vernis in 'April', 'May' and 'June' [available in Autumn 2012]."

Can you tell us what other products were used?
"For the skin, I used Vitalumière Compact and Vitalumière Aqua Cream Compacts (available March 2012). On the eyes, I used Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Ebène, Mascara Inimitable Waterproof in Black, Le Crayon Khôl in Clair and two shades of Illusion d'Ombre in Fantasme and Emerveillé. For the cheeks I used Blush Horizon de Chanel [exclusive creation in Limited Edition 2012 Spring Collection] and on the lips Rouge Coco Baume and Lèvres Scintillantes in Plaisir."
