Drive. Talent can be learned and that leads to more talent. I would place positive energy, drive and "can-do" attitude at the top of the list in being successful in your career.
On a scale of one to ten, how significant a role does luck play when it comes to success?
Eight. Being realistic, timing is often about luck. Being in the right place at the right time may land you that opportunity that allows your career to flourish. It can't only be about luck though - you need talent to make the most of these opportunities.
Which is more critical, the idea or the execution?
Execution. So many great plans and dreams are never realised in business due to poor execution.
Is it better to be passionate or objective?
Passionate. Passion for what you do is essential. It's something that drives people in media. However, I also believe that the ability to be objective and fair is a basic human trait that you would expect in a senior executive.
What is most and least important? Please rank your priorities.

What one trait has helped you most in business?
Belief in myself above all. That doesn't mean that from time to time you don't question things, but in the end, belief that success is in my control and I can succeed makes even the hardest job seem do-able.
What is the one trait that has hindered you most in business?
I can be a perfectionist and have learned that striving for excellence is a far easier achievement. I've also learned that I need to celebrate success with those around me rather than always asking for more. It's far easier to raise the bar on staff when they feel supported and appreciated.
What is the hardest lesson you've learned and how did you learn it?
Finding a way to balance motherhood and career is simply something you have to live through to find out what's right for you. I have a wonderful family that have supported me and do to this day, however I sacrificed a lot in those early days of motherhood. The positive is that I never took a single dirty nappy for granted! Companies need to support women throughout all stages of their careers and take a long-term view of retaining female talent within the organisation. Far too often, companies take a short-term view of the need to change work practices with the new demands of motherhood and I think that's a shame.
What is the one piece of advice you would offer other women in business?
Don't neglect yourself in the attainment of your goals. Stay healthy, exercise and give yourself time to think. Working women can be so busy that at times it's overwhelming and you can lose sight of why you are working so hard. Look for the meaning in what you do and if you have that, work is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a day. My other mantra is - make your decisions and get on with it!
What are the biggest mistakes you see women making in business?
Neglecting themselves.
