Hi Sept Bandits - Just thought I'd make a new thread in our new home!

Had my third fill yesterday - doc took out all the fill in the band and there was only 7ml in there not the 8.5ml we thought was in there - so he gave me another 1ml (so now at 8ml) and suggested I come back in two weeks for the next fill clinic - but I cant so I'll have to wait til 12th Jan - I hope this fill is enough as there are too many temptations over the festive season!

Hope you are all going well....

Hey Lee, thanks for setting up the thread

Just thought I would get the ball rolling on the
1 December weigh in...

this morning (drum roll please)
I was 99.8!
15kg down and finally in double figures

Next goal is to get to 96 (BMI under 35)

Def won't be looking at the scales for the rest of the week, I never want to see triple figures ever again!

Hope you're all doing well

Hi Everyone,
I had a successful 2nd fill last Friday and am enjoying a huge amount of restriction.
Am back down to my 7kg weightloss so any more from now is new territory.

Breakfast this morning was quarter of a weetbix and the overfull feeling has only just gone over an hour later.

Ok Grace - I'll weigh in too ........95.5kg  - unfortunately no real change - just seem to be hovering but I am hoping that this fill will do the trick! Though from the restriction that 'N' (sorry not sure which Sept bandit you are - all our ids have changed with this move!) is experiencing - I am nowhere near restricted!

Had bfast at 8am - 2eggs, diced lean bacon & mushroom, ate all of it but was full, hungry again by 11:30! So I think I will need more fill - but I will keep working at it until next month!

Oh I like this new home congrats Lee and Grace for hitting double figures I am 16.5 kg down was hoping to get to double figures by Christmas but have 8.5 to go, will see how I go. I have my third fill on the 8th so that will help only have a very small amount of restriction at the moment.

I'm wa_honey from the other forums :)

Figured salad would be ok and slip thru fine so i took the kids to Sizzler tonight, 4 mouthfulls in i pushed my plate away and headed for the toilets, i was soooooo angry at myself and at my band, i love that food and really feel as though i'm missing out, thought by now i'd be over those thoughts.

5mls is a very good fill for me though it seems :)

Hello Honey !!! I hear you   Its not fair is it but i guess its part of the adjustment !Just focus on the every shrinking body !!!!

You know its funny this month on the 20th i will be 3 mths banded.  I have not had a fill and am satisfied with 2 small meals a day and handful or 2 of raw nuts.  Some days i can be a bit more hungry (especially when those hormones are rearing their ugly head).  But the other day we were having some fish and chips as hubby got them because i was not feeling well.  Anyways i had my first experience of what being stuck almost felt like!! As i felt the band struggle with the chips although it did pass !!! I didnt think at this stage it would be like that ie the restriction feeling ??? I certainly cant eat tons of food like i use to ?? hence the reason why i have not had a fill.  I am off to see the dr for a check up in the next week or so as i want to get it all checked out.
I still get a discomfort kinda of pull sensation especially if i have twisted wrongly during exercise etc ??? Is anyone else getting that??  I have to wonder if i will ever get to the stage where i wont feel the band in my body ???
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday !!!

Hi everyone.

One week out from my third fill and I am feeling a reasonable level of restriction - probably one more fill will see me right - but we'll see how I'm feeling by the middle of Jan when my next appointment comes around - I'll probably be hangin out for a fill by then. Still no blockages or PB's, and nothing I cant eat, though that makes me wonder if I do have enough restriction. At this level - I will be able to enjoy the foods of the festive season without feeling like I'm missing out because of too much restriction and with enough restriction to minimize the feastive season 'damage'.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Cheers, Lee

Sounds good Lee, you don't want to be grumpy all xmas long because you feel like your missing out, but you don't want to put weight back on either.

i'm about 10 days after my 2nd fill now and have lost 6kgs in that time, i have HUGE restriction in everything including fluids and am pb'ing quite alot, but feel fantastic and just have to take it easy and get used to teeny amounts of food and i'll be at goal before i know it :D.

Hi Guys!!!
Well, a lot has happened to me. Finally, i had my port put back in. It is now in a different place and everything seems to be going well. I actually got my op cancelled as i had a chest infection, but the the doc came round and sadi if i didnt get it done then, then he wouldnt be able to operate on me til March as he is that booked up! So after another check by the ?anaesthitist?, I got the go ahead.....
The doc put 4mls of fill in my band whilst i was under, but that night and the next day, i couldnt even keep water down so they decided to take 2ml outta me.. I tell ya, poking and prodding around trying to find the port on top of fresh wounds is no picnic... So now I am at 2ml... Im still not happy with restriction, but i ccant eat hardly anywhere near as much as i did before.. I have to be really careful with bread now as this morning i had a piece and uh oh, up it came! I guess i am just worried because i couldnt even tolerate 4ml, some of you are at 8!, then will I get the proper amount of restriction?? Its so weird that I couldnt handle 4ml.. Even doc was scratching his head??

Well done to you all!! Havent written for a while so give me all the goss! Oh and Chris, i went three months without any fill and i PB'ed at least once a week if i didnt chew certain things carefully!! I find with me tho, I actually get tummy upset if i eat the wrong thing and i had the runs so bad today after drinking choc milk, my little belly buddy does not like choc milk! Anyone else experience stomach discomfort/bloating ect??? Sorry to be so graffic!

Take care lovelies and hope to hear from lots of you soon!

Hi Everyone
Kylie glad your port got put back in !! I would imagine with all the poking and prodding that everything is pretty swollen in there so hence the 4 mls is probably too much but as soon as everything settles i am sure they can put more in!!  And yes i can get a tummy upset if i eat the wrong thing !! And yes i get the gas build up and distended gut ... but am finding that is getting better as the days go by.  I cant drink choc milk or any milk products except coffee without that reaction you may be a bit lactose intolerant. Wishing you a speedy recovery Kylie
Well i hopped on the scale this morning i saw staring back up at me 101.5!!!! Yay cant wait for those double figures but have to be patient as I am sure ( i wouldnt weigh myself) that last year in May/June I was at 120 maybe 121 ... by the time i got the courage to hop on those scales i was 118.4.
Have a wonderful Wednesday

Hi Everyone - Great to see you back Kylie - and glad to hear things went well (except for the proding and poking! Ouch!), I'm learning everyones fill level and restriction level is different, some people have no or very little fill and have great restriction, others like me have a lot of fill (me 8ml now) with only moderate restriction, it also depends on the size of the band put it - I have a 13ml band, and remember 5ml (or there abouts) of my 8ml was put in at surgery to help hold it in place. As Chris says there might be some swelling of sorts that will settle down after a little while, you can also get greater restriction for the first couple of days after a fill, and my doc says that your band will tighten at TTOM - something to do with hormones and your stomach walls swelling I think!

Chris your loss so far is awesome - you will be in double digits in no time - I've got to get my @%&# into gear literally!

Have a good day everyone!

I get an upset tummy when i drink choc milk now, when i never did before, what's the deal with that? why do some things upset us to the point of pain and the runs?? does anyone know...i should say that i was only drinking choc milk as i couldn't handle anything remotely solid including yoghurt but needed some calories :)

Glad ur a full bandit again Kylie :)

Hi, getting prepared to have my surgery on the 14th Dec have lost a few kilos already and am pleased. Started on optifast and was wondering if I am allowed fruit in the lead up to op, can you advise me please ... feeling optifast not enough at this stage, tummy growling all the time.

Cheers

Had my forth fill today I can really feel the restriction go back in six weeks, 17kgs gone!!!!
Chris I wasn't allowed any fruit when I was on optifast. I was only allowed veg that was on the pamphlet in the box, make sure you drink your 2 litres of water a day that help flush your system. Good luck!
