With this new board if you create a thread you have the option of deleting it as well. At least the information we post on here will be current.

It will feel like home before we know it. It does have a lot of new features we can use.

Hi Michael

Yahoo closed it and started this one. With a bit of luck you know who won't come over. At least we have an ignore button now.

ok need to ask some qustoins, First off all I would like to here from any one that has had there band slip, and has developed a pouch, as I am having surgery to remove my band and have it replaced I am nerveous and unsure of the consequences I am told it should all be fine but there is dought in my mind, I would also like to know what is the best cook book to buy so that after two years of being banded I actually know what is best to eat, some of you might say how could this be! but I have never had the back up support to teach me, I have seen Knife fork and band on the web at $40 bucks  or are there better options?
thanks and hope some one can help

Hi Michael,
I bought Eating Well after Surgery.  It is a little bit gourmet but I have made about 7 or 8 recipes out of it and each one has been very nice.  I found it good because I am not a big fish eater and it has become a big part of my diet now.  I enjoy cooking and would like to check out some others too, so if anyone has some other suggestions it would be helpful.

Hi Micheal,
I just purchased the knife fork and band book and I think it is fantastic.  It has a step by step guide on what to do before, and after the op with over 100 "normal" everyday recipes.  I highly recommend it, worth every cent

Is anyone else finding this forum slower?  It seems to take ages for a post to  . . .  um . . . . . post . . . . .  and it also seems to take ages to get back to the home page.  Maybe it's just my internet playing up.

I dont like it.  Grrr.  I am sorry but I am not good with change.  I dont like how we have to scroll down to get to the last post.  I dont like that we cant even see our old stuff at all.  I feel so bad for the people who have stuff on there that was like a journal of their time.  Yep we could cut and paste it to a word document.  I did that for our old stats but it took ages so it would be so difficult to do it for other stuff.  Sorry I am whinging.  I am sure we will get used to this but I just dont like it.  :(  I dont know what the proble with the old one was.  Why didn't they just delete stuff that has not been accessed in over a year or two and maybe restrict new topics.  On the last one Lily told us not to panic as we will still be able to see our old stuff but I tried to find it but no luck.  So Lily if you are about can you tell me how I can do it.

Sharon,

Just like on the old forum, you can have the newest post showing first.  You just need to adjust your settings.  If you look at the top of this page (just above the first post and to the right), you will see a 'sort by' option.  Just change it to newest first.  It seems the default setting is oldest first.

Micheal I have had two slips. I don't make adheasions and as the French Mid Band is not usually stitched in and relies on the adheasions to hold it in place mine slipped. First time it was able to be re adjusted in the operation. The second time it was undone and let in my inside for 5 weeks for swelling to go down.(1/3 of my stomach was on top of the band) and then the next operation it was clipped up again. Not nice both time as I could not get even water down and kept reaching.
You will be fine I came through all 4 operations well and I am not young. No pain just a bit tender for a few days.

Hi Westy,

i bought it over the net.  I googled lap band surgery books and that looked the best one at the time.  I think I will buy knife fork and band too.  I just love cook books...
