Luciana Masci, tour operator of Absolutely Abruzzo Tours, has shared with us some delicious recipes sourced from both her family in Australia and in Abruzzo itself. Try these almond meringues - a recipe from her favourite aunties Francesca and Angelina.
Ingredients
2 egg whites
6 tbls sugar
120 crushed roasted almonds
Method
Beat egg whites until stiff, add sugar slowly and beat until sugar is dissolved e.g. 6 min or so.
Fold the crushed almonds in.
Bake in slow oven, 150 deg for about 15 -20 mins.
