Whoever wrote this list is obviously trying to throw something together on a saturday night to meet their writing quota, a lot of people dont have time to prepare everything themselves and making a pasta with dolmio is a lot healthier than going to macdonalds. Personally I make most things myself but I do use frozen veges... even if I wanted to shell my own peas I cant find them or afford them in the supermarket, and as far as growing them myself? Good luck when my only garden space is my driveway. I cannot believe this list made it to the home screen as an article of interest and as most other comments point out there could have been a lot more things listed that we shouldnt buy. What about packet mix cakes when making a real cake is as easy as butter, sugar eggs, flour & cocoa? High in sugar yes but no added salt and preservatives. As Mich points out if I buy all the various salad items It would cost me more than the $5 for the prepacked one and all the ingredients would go off before I got to use them. Good point DBM life experience definitely lacking with this one, her bolognaise recipe leaves a lot to be desired and would taste bland.

The list should have included breakfast cereals - chock full of salt and sugar and they have to add vitamins and minerals artificially to give them any nutritional value at all. Then there's margarine which is basically a chemical cocktail with GMO canola oil. Anything that says "fat-free" or "fat-reduced" usually has double the sugar content to make up for the lack of taste as a result.

Tap water is pure?? Fluoride and Chlorine plus other elements = pure?? You want to look after your health try distilled water. Unfortunately we all suffer for our society, so many working to live 'the dream' lifestyle that we kill ourselves with stress, chemicals in processed foods as well as nutrient stripping because of said processing. Ask yourself if you really need the latest tech, clothes straight from the runway or the prestige car in the 500 square home in the best suburb of (insert rat race location) with the boat out the back. It all means nothing when to get it you have nearly killed yourself by 50 if your lucky. Love people use things works for me.

Crikey! Telling people what they should and shouldn't buy? Sure there are some useful tips, but I like my frozen meals on occasion, and frozen veggie don't necessarily have butter. People are so busy these days, many don't have time to cook from scratch!
