Princess Diana
Princess Diana chose her own ring when Prince Charles proposed. Presented with a selection from Garrard jewellers she chose the 18-carat sapphire surrounded by 14 diamonds. Why she chose it remains a mystery, some say it was because it matched her eyes,others believ the Queen chose it for her, or as Diana was later quoted saying, “it was the biggest.”
