There’s something about December that makes me feel that same sense of magic I felt as a little girl. All the fairy lights, the fancy department store window displays, even the carols that play on repeat lulling me into a Christmas-cracker like delirium. The fact that we’re not only allowed, but are culturally encouraged, to eat and drink too much whilst wearing sequins...what a holiday!
But perhaps the thing I enjoy most about December is it’s the one time of year where I am supposed to buy beautiful things for the people I love, especially the often neglected men in our lives! As they say in America, “it’s the season for giving!”
I relish acquiring a shiny new object as much as anyone, and if it takes a blatantly commercialised religious holiday to justify secretly spending money on the men I love most, who am I to object?! After all, it’s often the boyfriends, husbands, brothers and dads who truly appreciate the effort and style you’ve put into getting them something special (and wear your gift until it starts disintegrating!)
But as the days slip away, and the partridge appears in the proverbial pear tree, the pressure to find the perfect gift can quickly descend from fun search to frenzied, anxiety-laden hunt.
So to help you with your Christmas/Hanukkah shopping list, I’ve put together the ultimate gift giving guide for the amazing (most of the time, at least) men in your life at every price point.
