Nestled in a quiet corner of Paddington is Atlantis Hair Salon. I’d heard so many great reviews about the talents of their colourist Wayne Lewis and cutter Alan Buki, so when I was offered the opportunity to have a cut and colour there, I jumped at the chance. And as an avid lover of O&M products – seriously, my shower is stacked full of them! – I was even more excited to have them apply their new Mineral CCT (Clean Colour Technology) system to my blonde locks. It sounds fancy, right? Well that’s because it is!

This revolutionary colour system has removed harsh chemicals wherever possible while including natural extracts and active minerals, making it better for your hair, health and the environment. It’s free from ammonia, resorcinol and PPD (paraphenylenediamine) which can be harsh on hair, toxic to humans and animals, and induce allergic reactions. But this doesn’t mean it skimps on quality.

By reducing the chemical dependence of colour, it actually improves the hair’s condition, so my blonde hair was left incredibly soft and revived. Also, the experience of getting my hair coloured was made even more enjoyable because there were no fumes! This meant that I could breathe freely (hallelujah!) and I didn’t get that weird eye stingy feeling while I was waiting for the colour to set.
