Reese Witherspoon - who has two children, Ava, 13, and Deacon, eight, from her previous marriage to Ryan Phillippe - and her husband Jim Toth welcomed Tennessee James into the world earlier today (28.09.12).

A representative for the couple said, "Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth welcomed Tennessee James into their family today. Both mom and baby are healthy and the entire family is thrilled."

No other details have been released at the time of writing.

Last month, the 'Legally Blonde' actress spent a couple of days in a Los Angeles medical facility after it was feared she was going into early labour.
