Katy Perry has embarked on a spiritual journey after taking inspiration from Elizabeth Gilbert's novel 'Eat, Pray, Love' - starting with climbing a volcano.

The 'Fireworks' singer shared a photo of herself atop a mountain yesterday (19.09.12) along with the caption, "I ate, I prayed, I climbed a volcano."

The photo comes two days after Perry tweeted, "Getting some s**t out my chakra's! #eloquent (sic)"

It seems the 27-year-old is going through a spiritual phase following her divorce from Russell Brand - which was finalised in July - and is taking part in meditation sessions. She tweeted on Sunday (16.09.12), "Starting the day with a group meditate #breakfastofchampions (sic)

Perry has been dating John Mayer since August and although they were rumoured to have split briefly, the two artists have reunited. They were last spotted together on September 11 partying in a Las Vegas strip club.
