In a stunning revelation, she disclosed that her mother Kris Jenner agreed to put her on birth control at the tender age of 14.
Kim told Oprah in the first of a two-part interview on Oprah's Next Chapter she was almost 15 when her mother, agreed to put her on birth control. She explained that the decision, a bold move back then - and still now, came as a result of her desire to lose her virginity to her boyfriend of two years.
Kim said: "When I did want to have sex the first time I was almost 15", adding her liberal mum was open to discussion about the topic, and even got her on birth control.
She continued: "I was like, 'I think I’m going to, or I want to,' and she was like, 'OK, so this is what we’re gonna do, we’re gonna put you on birth control,' and she was like, really open and honest with me."
Oprah was shocked by the admission, responding to Kim saying, 'wow' and moving onto the next question, Kim's sex tape. Five years since her sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J was released, the reality star says she understands the impact it's had on her career.
"Would you be where you are had there not been a sex tape?" Oprah asked Kim. And she was forced to admit: "You know, I think that's how I was definitely introduced to the world."
"It was a negative way, so I felt like I really had to work ten times harder to get people to see the real me."
Dispelling the rumour she released the tape herself, Kim said she's always been concerned about "humiliating the family".
The day the tape was was a "really bad day" mum Kris recalled. "No mother ever wants to hear something like that... I could tell she was in a lot of pain."
Now dating Kanye West, Kim Kardashian tells Oprah that their relationship is working because West is older, not younger.
She added: "I always dated five years younger. My whole thing was completely different, and now I just love that I'm with someone that's a couple years older than me."
