ROB’S RENO – INTERNAL FITOUT

This week when we pop by Rob’s Reno it’s all about the internal fit out – the floors, the stairs, the bathroom and the kitchen. Rob will show you how to cut corners and save lots of money in places that you’ll never be able to tell and he’s got clever ideas on how to maximise space and light at your place.

ROB – SAWING 101

The saw is essential for any sort of cutting – from a simple fence post to building a whole house. Rob will show you which saw to choose for which job and he’ll share all of his best tips for the humble handsaw, the circular saw and the jigsaw… he’ll be saving you time and money on your next project!

KAREN – HOKKIEN NOODLES WITH CRIPSY PORK

Don’t be tempted to get takeaway on those busy mid-week nights. Karen has a super quick, healthier option: just take away part of the meal. Karen’s has grabbed some BBQ pork from local Chinese restaurant saving loads of time on preparation. This means you can just toss some Asian veggies, handfuls of hokkien noodles and that delicious pork into a wok for a moreish mid-week dinner winner.

ED – CANAPES: OLIVE AND TOMATO STICKS AND CRISPY CRAB CAKES.

Ed shows us two irresistible bites that will really impress your guests. These savory treats are really elegant and so simple to make, perfect for easy entertaining. Olive and tomato sticks using tapenade and puff pastry are a super-fast way to create delicious pre-dinner snacks. While crispy crab cakes have the prefect combo of a smooth, sweet filling and a crispy savory coating. Finished off with a delicious cucumber & yoghurt sauce - Your guests will be impressed!

ED – MALTESER ICE CREAM SANDWICH

This week in our kid’s corner Ed is whipping up every kids favourite part of dinner: dessert! Crushed Maltesers mixed into melted ice cream and reset into circular shapes are sandwiched between a simple sweet shortbread. This is one dessert that the adults will want to eat too – but get in quick before they melt!

GRAHAM – WHEATGRASS TABLE RUNNER

Graham brings a new spin to table decor and creates a table runner that is not only good to look at but is super healthy too! Wheatgrass is known for its great health benefits, typically used in salads and juice drinks. Graham brings it to the table giving you a healthier decorating alternative that is delicious!

GRAHAM – FIGHTING THE FUNGUS

This week its war – Graham is fighting the fungus in the garden. With all of this unusual, and in many parts of Australia, very wet weather, coupled with warm summer conditions this makes the perfect breeding ground for diseases. This week Graham’s got all the rescue remedies to save your precious plants from attack.

JASON – WORLD’S EASIEST FISH POND
Don’t think that you have to have large built-in pond to be able to keep fish in your backyard. This week Jason is building the easiest fish pond ever.     Love better homes and gardens. I saw something about clutter and BHG can come and help declutter. I have a room cluttered how do I get BHG to come and help me? I have a small house and I do a lot of different crafts and no place to put stuff.
