Rainwater tanks

Three rainwater tanks are located under the house, with access via portals in the living spaces. “We installed the tanks with pond lights and a reticulated pump so that at night, the portals produce these flickering orbs of light which are great when we want to create a moody ambience,” explains Dan. Meanwhile, another precast concrete rainwater tank has been worked into a plunge pool and finished with green slate tiles from Indonesia. Accessed via a bridge from the deck off the master bedroom, the pool is one of the couple’s favourite features.
