I can understand that kitchen stylists can't do without selling that, but I don't think that "chefs"
give a damn about styling and design! they need their tools, and their fresh products; the lay-
out is rather personal preferences; very little needed, in fact; only for show-offs.
I was thinking this article, being about kitchen essentials, would be talking about new gadgets, ol' faithful brands & practical tools to use, WHILE COOKING. Stupid me. Was so refreshing to see designers & corporate high-ups shamelessly giving themselves a plug. I can guarantee if I had $thousands to spend on renovating my kitchen & the day-to-day elements & implements contained within, I'd be able to find better ways to justify the money than on pretty colour schemes & superficial aspects.
love how the title is things chefs cant do without...greyscale colouring? whats a chef going to do with a colour scheme? you cant cook on it and its not practical. also the preferred benchtop for 99.99% of professional , not pseudo magazine wanna-be's is stainless steel. chefs want practical not ikea nesting syndrome garbage.
Why is it you nearly always see things being thrown into a skip on this show? Haven't you people heard of recycling? The benchtops, knobs, runners and feet are all reusable items that could go to a recycling market (Reverse Garbage) or the local tip markets to be resold. Or they could be advertised on a site such as Freecycle where things are given away instead of being thrown into landfill. Ninety nine percent of the time someone will take what you no longer want or need......Food for thought if anyone reads this.
