Fancy Fish
Dr.Harry Says: Watching fish in an aquarium is relaxing, and an indoor tank can be a great design feature for your home. Goldfish come in various shapes and colours – bubble eyes, orandas and lionheads, to name a few of the bizarre-looking varieties. Then there’s the tropicals. For beginners, you can’t go past African cichlids – they’re tough, colourful and grow quickly. For something bigger, the discus is shaped as you’d expect, loves to be in pairs and will breed. For the more unusual, try the elephant-nose fish, which has a trunk on its bottom jaw; the black ghost knife fish, which can swim in different directions; and, at over $1000, the French angelfish (above).
