It's hard to believe anything can get as crispy as a potato chip in the microwave, but believe it! Thinly sliced potatoes seasoned with extra virgin olive oil and salt crisp up beautifully in the microwave and since these crispy chips aren't fried, they're healthier for you, too, with around 8 grams less fat per serving than regular chips. Who knew?

It says you can make them crispy. It doesn't say what they taste like.
ReplyWhat they don't mention is that when cooked, extra virgin olive oil turns into trans fats (the "bad" fat that even fast food restaurants are trying to move away from). The only olive oils that should be used in cooking (or heating) are extra light olive oil & pure olive oil. All other olive oils are fine to use uncooked (e.g. in salads). So the above suggestion isn't that healthy after all.
