Get off your butt
Sitting for too long slows your metabolism, even if you exercise regularly. An easy fix is to stretch, stroll and fidget throughout the day. That is what scientists call NEAT, or non-exercise activity thermogenesis, and it can help boost your energy. Take advantage of every opportunity to climb stairs and walk instead of drive, and it can make a big difference. Try striding around your house or office when you’re on the phone and walk to your workmate’s desk instead of emailing.
