Kick up your cardio
Mix intervals of intense exercise with your regular workout. This will increase your kilojoule burn and heighten your metabolic rate, sometimes for as long as an hour after you stop exercising. The ideal metabolism-boosting routine is to go hard for a couple of minutes, then take it down to an easier pace for a minute or two, and keep alternating throughout your session. It’s best to choose cardio exercises that use multiple muscle groups such as running or a gym circuit class.
