Give empty household containers a second life as useful scoops, funnels or watering-cans. Now you can recycle and be thrifty at the same time.

Cut the top section (about one-third of the way down from the top) of a plastic drink or vinegar bottle. With the lid removed, it becomes a very useful funnel.
Power showerDrill a 12mm hole in the plastic handle of a clean and empty liquid washing detergent bottle, and several 3mm holes in its cap. Fill bottle with water, replace the cap and water your garden and potted plants.
