Type 2 Diabetes

This type of diabetes occurs when the pancreas is producing less insulin than the body requires and the body is no longer responding properly to it. As a result, glucose levels rise in the blood.

If Type 2 diabetes is diagnosed early, it is possible to manage the condition with a healthy diet and regular physical activity, and without medication or insulin injections.

However, Type 2 diabetes is a progressive disease so, eventually, oral medication and/or insulin injections are needed in most cases.

It is important to maintain a healthy diet and regular physical activity, regardless of what medication is prescribed.

A healthy lifestyle can dramatically slow the progression of the disease, keeping the medication doses to a minimum and reducing the chances of future diabetes-related conditions.
