The long, narrow, prickly leaves of the tree aloe (Aloe bainesii) add a strong structural element – in contrast to the soft foliage around it. This plant can grow up to 21m, so make sure you grow it in a pot with rich, well-drained soil. Grow in full sun and water sparingly until established.
