Now your green’s looking all spick-and-span, is anyone up for a game of cricket? It’s easy to build your own pitch, and once the season’s over, you won’t even know it was there.

Gather your supplies

  • Mower
  • Turf-marking paint or spray paint
  • 2 timber slats, such as fence palings, about 1.2m in length
  • Sticky Wicky All Rounder Kit (optional)
  • Here's How

Step 1: Set your mower about two clicks lower than usual, but not so low that you’ll scalp the lawn. Mow a suitable-sized area for a pitch.

Step 2: Use timber slats as stencils to mark out lines for crease and stumps.
    • Step 3: Position your cricket stumps and it’s game on! The Sticky Wicky All Rounder Kit makes it feel a little more like a real game. The Velcro cricket stumps on the plastic backdrop replace the need for a wicket keeper and will help curb arguments over the call of ‘OUT!’
