Here's How

• Step 1: Drill hole through dolly peg at ‘shoulder’ level.
• Step 2: Paint body of peg with red acrylic paint, adding black boots and a skin-tone head.
• Step 3: Push a pink or white chenille stick through drilled hole and trim to size for arms. Wrap a thin strip of scrap felt or quilt wadding around the peg body for padding, securing end with glue.
• Step 4: Print peg Santa template, adjusting size if needed, then cut a jacket from red felt and cut a split down centre front. Allowing 3mm seams, stitch arm and side seams and clip curves under arms. Turn jacket right side out and slip onto Santa’s body. Overlap centre front edges and glue or stitch together.
• Step 5: Cut narrow strips of quilt wadding or white felt and glue around lower edge and cuffs of Jacket. Cut narrow strip of black felt and glue around waist for a belt. Cut tiny square of gold foil board for buckle, fill in centre with black marker pen and glue to centre front of belt. Stitch 3-4 gold seed beads to front of jacket for buttons.
• Step 6: Glue a small amount of fibrefill in place on Santa’s head for hair and beard.
• Step 7: Cut a triangular hat from a red felt scrap and glue to head, folding, trimming and gluing as necessary to fit head. Finish with white cuff and add a white bead to tip as pompom.
• Step 8: Draw a face with black marker and add red cheeks with blusher or red pencil.
• Step 9: Attach hanging loop of thread or fine cord to top of hat.
