You’ll be as snug as a bug in a rug wearing this versatile accessory.

So if you do have a preloved throw that’s ready for another life get it ready or buy a new one that will look simply stunning with the rest of your wardrobe. As for the kind of throw you use it can be made from inexpensive pola fleece or of soft wool, as long as it has a frindge, you’re on a winner. Then all you have to do is follow the three simple steps and the convertion is done.
There’s also lots of flexibility with how you wear it, for example you could go for a simple elegant look by letting it fall over your shoulders, wear it belted or toss one of the front sides over a shoulder. Either way it will quickly become your favourite item of clothing for keeping out the winter chill.

STEP 1Fold the throw in half length ways with the frindges at either end. Fold it in half again, putting both frindge ends together. Mark the middle point with a pin. Open out the throw length ways again. On the folded edge measure 60mm down from the middle point on one side only, mark the spot with a pin. This is the top of section to be cut out. Measure in 85mm from the fold line and pin all the way down to the frindge.
STEP 2Mark the point 70mm down from the top of the cut out. Use the graph to create the gentle curve at the top the section to be cut out. Cut out.
STEP 3Open out the throw and sew a line of stitching very close to the edge to neaten it. Fold over a 15mm seam and sew in place.

TIP – for loose weave throws roll over the edge a second time before sewing.

Love the idea of this poncho, but measurements must be wrong 85 m.m by 70 mm. Maybe I should remeasure it????
ReplyPardon me for asking, but what is a " frindge "?! I guess the spell-check was out-of-order in this article - unless it was 'spot the deliberate mistakes'
