You can enrich your interior by whipping up a few of these charming projects. Using the easy Wrap n Roll stick to create textured ruffles, you can cosy up cushions, throws, lampshades, curtains and even scarves in just a few hours. And if you like, include a smattering of shimmery pearls for added polish. So, what are you waiting for? Gather your supplies, on your marks, get set, go!

Using your Wrap n Roll

You’ll need

Wrap n Roll stick; 10mm-wide elastic; yarn; matching thread

Step 1

Feed a length of elastic through stick from top so it comes out of the bottom. It should be the length you need for your project, plus about 30cm for working.

Step 2

Slide top end of elastic into the slit at top of the stick and secure in place with a knot.

Step 3

Take 1 end of yarn ball, wrap it around stick and knot off.

Step 4A,B

Wrap yarn around stick, from left to right, sliding ruffle to the bottom as you go. Continue until stick is full, then slide off onto elastic.

Step 5

Continue Step 4 until ruffle is the length required for your project, then stitch through elastic and yarn at both ends to secure. Lay out ruffle and evenly space yarn along elastic, ensuring elastic is concealed. Pin ruffle to project, and when happy with the placement, stab stitch with doubled sewing thread at intervals to fasten in place.
