Finished size: 10 x 16cm

Stitches: Stem stitch.

You'll need
22 x 16cm of check gingham
20cm square white cotton fabric
DMC stranded embroidery cotton in mauve (210)
Raffia
Potpourri
Water-erasable pen
Pinking shears
Machine thread

Here's how
1. Folds the gingham in half to make a piece 11 x 16cm and measure 5cm up from the bottom. This is the point across which you'll centre your lettering
2. Trace the lettering onto the gingham with a water-erasable pen.

3 Embroider the lettering in stem stitch using two strands of the mauve (210) cotton.

Making up the bag
1. Trim the top of the fabric with pinking shears to create a jagged edge.
2. With right sides together, machine the centre seam down the back of the sachet ad across the bottom. Turn to right side.

Finishing
Make an inner bag with the white fabric and fill it with potpourri. Stitch the bag closed and insert it into the sachet. Tie the sachet with three strands of raffia and make a raffia loop at the back for hanging.
