There's no need for complicated instructions here. We just thought these boxes so pretty we wanted to inspire you to try simple folk art.

Small wooden or cardboard boxes are available from craft stores (try Lincraft on 1300 730 140). Much nicer to store odds and ends in, than plastic bags left over from shopping!

Use acrylic paints over a base coat of one or two colours only. The idea is to keep it simple. Allow to dry.

Sketch your overall design onto paper first to give you an idea of what goes where. Then paint on trees, houses, clouds - whatever you like. When the boxes are stacked your scene unfolds.

If you don't trust your artistic talents, go for bright colours and geometric shapes to create a modern look instead.
