Be inspired by two lovely blankets and get into one of winter's great pleasures, knitting.

Whether you are a passionate knitter or new at it, it's time to pick up the needles. Knitting has never been more popular than it is right now and with good reason. It's so creative, and working with today's beautiful yarns is a tactile treat. And call them whatever you like: afghans, throws, rugs or blankets they are the warmest warming craft around.

On the same pattern sheet look for the two wonder blankets titled:

  • Quick-knit squares (above)
    Woolly rug (below)

Both of these rugs are knitted squares, so you can take your knitting with you wherever you go without it being cumbersome. Please send a $1 stamped self addressed C5 sized envelope to:

Quick-knit squares is an ideal project for the beginner, and because it is knitted with two strands of yarn at once, grows very quickly.

The Woolly rug is knitted with the embroidered designs added after the squares are made. Wool is Patons 1800 333 642..
