Rating:

This virus is spread by several species of aphid.

The growing tip of the plant blackens and dies and plants often have blackened areas on the stem near ground level. Plants may wilt and die or produce leaves with wavy, curled edges. Symptoms are worse in cold weather.

Wilt also affects other legumes.

Control:
Pull up and burn diseased plants as soon as the symptoms appear. Control aphids. Avoid planting broad beans in cold weather
