Decking island

It's a piece of cake to build a decking island which you can then use as a swish outdoor coffee table, extra seating for social occassions, or simply to add interest by stretching your deck into three dimensions without having to call in the landscapers!

Decorative columns

Using columns to define a garden room can cost a fortune. However, if structural strength isn't needed, who's going to know if your columns are hollow? Build an open wall of columns to separate the space while still giving you a great view. Here's how to get the look for less.

Mirror panels

Hang a series of three mirrors on the wall to give perspective, interest and depth, and to create an illusion of extra space. Mirrors look good in any garden but work particularly well in small areas. They are more effective when the edges are hidden by foliage, and people can't see their own reflection.
